Graco Car Seats - The Choices

!±8± Graco Car Seats - The Choices

It is the law in the US and most other countries to ensure the safety of children riding in cars by means of specialist seats and harnesses. Graco car seats naturally adhere to US safety regulations but what else do they offer?

Graco car seats come in all shapes and sizes and some are multi-purpose. In other words they convert to suit different age groups of children, but do they offer more than any other brand? Let's take a look at some of the features which are thought to be most important in child seat comfort and safety.

Rear Facing: It is recommended that a child stays in a rear facing seat for as long as possible as it is considered to be far safer than a front facing seat.

5 Point Harness: This type of harness is considered the safest, the best fit and least likely to eject the child. Many Graco car seats have this feature but some do not, such as booster seats.

Wide Straps which won't twist: A wide strap offers more restraint whereas a twisted strap offers less and can cause additional injuries. All Graco seats have wide straps made of durable materials.

Rigorous Testing: All Graco car seats are crash and side impact tested.

Now for the types of seats on offer:

Snugride Infant: Designed for babies, this seat has a base which stays in the car so you can carry baby away with you. Incorporates a head support and rotating canopy.

Snugride 35 Infant: Rear facing for babies up to 35 pounds and/or 32 inches tall making it suitable for 97 percent of one year olds. The base remains in the car as above, the seat has a head support and rotating canopy. Compatible with most Graco strollers.

My Ride 65: Rear facing up to 40 pounds weight then forward facing up to 65 pounds.

Nautilus 3-in-1: Front facing for children 20 to 65 pounds. Converts to a high backed booster and lastly a backless booster for children up to 100 pounds. Incorporates a steel reinforced fame.

ComfortSport Convertible: This seat is rear facing for the weight range 5 to 30 pounds and converts for forward facing for toddlers from 20 to 40 pounds. Includes a removable pillow and snack or drink holder.

All these Graco car seats incorporate EPS energy absorbing foam.

There are many other Graco car seats available such as boosters so this is just a small example of the range available.
